outdoor reset with mixing valves?

I have a heat exchanger off from my boiler - the boiler is a cold start and heats the rest of my "non radiant" house via fin baseboard. On the radiant side I put in two mixing valves - one for the cement slab and one for under floor tube. A lot of mention here on the need for an outdoor control. My question is if the control adjusts feed temp do I get a similer result from the mixing valves? I don't see how I can use the outdoor control as I need to run my boiler to satisfy the baseboard needs. I am wiring it so the burner starts on a call for heat from any zone.

Also, should I run the "feed circulator" to the heat exchanger continuously or just on a call for heat from the radiant side?
Thanks

I dont know what you have for mixing valves, but you can do the outdoor reset for your radiant only and leave the baseboard high temp, but the control needs to have boiler protection and it must be piped correctly.

    Depending on your mix valves

you may be able to add a motor operater that could be controlled by an outdoor reset control. This will give you "near" constant circulation if properly installed and adjusted.

tekmar controls would have a place to wire and run that HX pump also when the radiant zones call.

Ya know, it all comes own to how much you want to spend on control intelligence. Hate to see you spend more for the controls than the entire rest of the system.

Generally, dollars spent on control "brains" come back in comfort and energy conservation.

You might reset the boiler and let the radiant "float along" with the curve. This way the baseboard and radiant would be weather responsive. Manual mix valves on the radiant would accomplish this trick.

Lots of ways to skin a radiant cat :)
