Millers Falls Tools

ok, gang.. I know this is completely un-related to heating, but I need some help.

Need some info on a Millers Falls p/n 6811, probably from the early 60's. It's part of a set that also includes a #680 power head, #681 router base, and #682 power-plane.

I've asked a few "tool experts" and some old time woodworkers, but so far we can't even agree on what it does.

If anybody's got an old catalog with this tool listed, let me know.

Thanks!

Carl

    Do you have a photo?

With the router a jig for hinge butts was available.

It is interesting, to say the least

It is a router holder with a yoke that moves into or from the cutter. The steel round bar in the yoke is strange with the C clip in the center and the yoke looks like it is stationary and does not slide left or right but the rod will. Going from there, it must take a hollow wooden piece that locates on the C clip and a diameter can be turned like a tenon or a relief cut made. But why? Like that little guy on Laugh-in said "verrrrrry hinteresting"!!

Carl, I spent the bulk of my life as a master woodworker. I'm not as old as the object you have, but I've studied the techniques of the dead men of the wood realm so if you can post a couple more pictures (or email them to me) I'm willing to bet money I can figure it out.

    Just a guess, but...

Is this a bracket to mount the router under a table saw or similar?
With the router in the yoke the other side up, looks like a mounting surface and a height/angle adjustment mechanism would attach to the base and rod respectively.

Don't know if this would help.

Ask the seller for a print date:
