Buderus Towel Warmer
now on to the buderus towel warmer, fed with Wirsbo Multicor.
What fitting to use in the female thread ports on the towel warmer? 1/2" seems really loose and I don't know of any nice gaskets to make an R20 coupler seat really nice in there.
Any ideas?

I just put one up and I used a Viega 1/2 pex by male adapter and it when all the way up. Seemed like the towel rad female threads are straight. I'll be adding water tomorrow, I'll let you know what happens.

Towel Rack
The taping is 1/2" paralell thread (straight running. It is best to use good teflon tape or wicking.

Hi NRT Rob,
I would suspect that the threads are 1/2" British Standard Pipe Parallel.

allow me to display my collossal ignorance then; is that the same as R20?

Runtal
Runtal makes a real nice 90 degree union fitting that has a shut off built in, then use a 1/2" MIPXR20 adapter.

I saw that, but the union fitting female thread is the same as is on the towel warmer itself, correct? My issue is it seems like a 1/2" thread is really loose in there.

Hi Rob,
It MIGHT be but I have seen R20 used to designate both 1/2" British Standard Pipe Parallel and 1/2" British Standard Pipe Tapered.

I know what your saying NRT Rob. Mine is in all the way. Luckly, the water passages are just above the fitting inside the towel rad. I hope it doesnt leal. I have had nightmares with Myson towel rads.

I'll go with
What S.Davis and Joe said. They are usually mounted higher than panel rads and the unions look nicer. Chris0 -
NRT Rob. We hooked ours up today with a pex by male adaper 1/2 . I used blue block tef tape then blue block. No leaks but the fitting went all the way into the towel rad.

Hi Ted,
That is consistant with the Buderus probably being British Standard Pipe Parallel. With the British standard, the threads per inch for 1/2" and 3/4" is the same as NPT (larger and smaller than those two sizes are NOT the same t.p.i.) but the root angle is 55 degrees on British and 60 degrees on NPT. And with parallel threads, the diameter is at least as large as the largest part of tapered threads.
British Standard Pipe Parallel is supposed to seal with a face gasket, not on the threads.
