Hydrotherm

Having spent the better part of 4 hour's today beating my head against the side of a Hydrotherm boiler that has been severly abused, does anyone know of a better way to dig one out? I ended up punching it with a 3/8th threaded rod and alot of brush's...I had the thought of pulling it of the stand and power washing it but I have five banked together (and yes the other four are plugged) and no shutoff's between the five...

    no hose on oil boiler

do NOT use a hose or any water on the Hydrotherm oil boilers unless you have some spare target board on hand you will destroy the firebox --which is only a pre-formed box of Kaowool --

    as it stands

Of the ten boiler's I have to replace 3 firebox's complete and 3 chamber's. And the scary part is these have been "serviced" since they were installed 10 year's ago. Oh well, I'll keep punching...:(
