I am on vacation but I'm still checking in from time to time. What is it you need to know. Our offices are closed on Monday for the holidays. Let me know what you need and I'll be glad to oblige.

    Hi Glenn

Sorry to bother you on vacation. I am looking to use a V-9 for an oil fired steam job rear flue. The manual states that you need 6 1/2 feet from floor to ceilng for the boiler. I have some 4" Steam mains that will run across the top of the boiler 59" off the floor. If the boiler is rear flue will it be a problem? Does the top flue canopy need to be removed for maintance? I'm in the office if you would like to call.
    Thanks for your help.
    Tom

It's always best to be able to clean the top of the sections as well as the flue passageways. Since the top of the jacket of the boiler is already 57" this will make things rather difficult. You would have to remove the top jacket panel anyway to get to the canopy and doing so will only require a couple of inches of play, so you may be alright. The canopy itself is recessed down inside and you should be able to work it up and out provided the entire area above is not full of mains. If your mains are that low, you will probably want to consider a dropped header for this job. Too bad you don't have a pit to put the boiler in. Hope this helps.

    Thanks Glen

I will take a copy of the installation manual and a ruler to the job and verify that I can get the flue collector off. Thanks for taking the time on your vacation.
