hi is there a easy way to get instant hotwater at my tap
I have a buderus lt 160 hot water tank can I add a taco 006
bronze and loop my hotwater supply pipe back to the hotwater tank and add a control so when the tap turns on it starts the circulator. I saw something at the pluming supply house but it was $300
I don't want something that keep circulating hotwater because my demand is not high so I don't want a call for hotwater more often that would use up more oil a day
thanks

demand system
Hello: You're talking about a demand system. Look at www.gothotwater.com . You don't need to run a line back to storage.

I tried a used Grundfos system
in my sister's home , and the results were not good . It could have been that the mxing tee was bad , I'm not sure . It would give you a momentary blast of real hot water , then lukewarm - on the cold side of the faucet . Originally , I loved the idea of circulating hot water through both the hot and cold pipes going out to the garage - much less of a chance either pipe can freeze in real cold weather . But after the problems , I realized I don't like the idea of mixing hot and cold together under the sinks .
After that , we ran a 1/2 pex pipe from a tee in the hot side close to the sinks , out to the boiler in the garage , about 75 feet away . We installed a bronze pump on the line , near the coil , pumping into the cold inlet . Being this far away I would think a check valve would not be needed , but we threw one in anyway . The best way to control the temp would be to add an aquastat where the recirc line connects near the faucet , and let it control the bronze pump , with a timer also . But I cheaped out and got a $10 timer and plugged the pump into it . Works great .0 -
recirc line
If you have our R2107 control, you can use the recirc feature and that should be sufficient. Any questions please call 1-800-Buderus.0 -

Recirc
We have the 2107 with the recirc feature and pump. Have it set at 3 times per hour and have instant hot water at the faucets. Works great!
