I've got four daughters (yes, 4) ages 2, 4, 6, 8 and none of them have ever grabbed a hot radiator.

Almost seems like a force of nature.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

My grandma raised 7 kids in houses with steam, hot water and hot air for heat. Only heat-related injury in the bunch was one daughter who started to crawl across the grate of a floor furnace--she still has the scar with perfect squares to prove...

    like a wood stove

My Grandmother once told me, a kid will only touch it once. They seem to remember real quick from there..:)

I think that's true for young kids.

However, I remember helping my father (I was around 13) with small plumbing & heating jobs. It seemed no matter how many times I burnt myself, I couldn't stay away from incoherently grabbing a hot pipe while holding the falshlight with the other.

I take that back, I can't say I ever really got 'burnt' but the pipes definitely let me know they were there. My dad got a real kick out of it!

I grew up in a house with coal and steam radiators and yes it came natural I think not to touch them. I wish I could say the same for climbing on the backs of chairs and tipping over into them. The scar from the stiches can still be found on the back top of my head :)

    YUP!

I had a customer that was concerned about his kids getting burned on hot radiators.

I said,"Well they should only touch them once, but if they touch them more than once.......perhaps we have identified a problem that should be taken care of NOW rather than later."

    uncovering problems

Brings to mind the guy with the invisible fence. Battery kept wearing out. Sales & service couldn't understand. Turns out the kids were straping the dog collar on & jumping through!
