that a long holiday break is coming up. I started reading Atlas Shrugged about a month ago, based on Dan's recommendation, and I have only gotten halfway through it, reading every day at lunch and bedtime. Hopefully I'll get a chance to finish it over the holidays (Oh well, who is John Galt?). I also have Flatland and Sphereland sitting on my desk waiting to be read.

Other recent reads from Dan's list have included A Short History of Nearly Everything (very informative and entertaining), and Being Dead (didn't enjoy so much, not because of the gruesomeness, but because I just didn't like the people).

Other oldies that I've read recently and would recommend are: Make Room!Make Room!, The Lathe of Heaven, In Cold Blood, and The Mayor of Casterbridge.
