how to correctly size a boiler based on piping, radiators, etc.
However, how do you determine how much EDR you need to heat a certain size room?
Is there a EDR/sq.ft. rating?

The output of a "Square Foot" of radiation varies with water temperature. Based on the usual standard of 180°F the output of a square foot of radiation would be equal to 170 btu/square foot of radiation. Based on 215°F water or steam conditions, the output would be 240 btu/square foot. Also, Square Feet of Radiation and EDR are basicly the same thing, just different names. EDR stands for "Equivalent Direct Radiation" and more often than not is used to rate devices such as Convectors and Unit Heaters.
