I am looking for any words of wisdom for removing and
installing new air vents on a steam system that is apprrox.
50 years old. Particularly tricks of the trade for extraction! As well as what to look for when buying replacement vents. Thanks all, I appreciate the help.

Dave:
I highly recommend Gorton air vents. Ken Kunz at Gorton is terrific. Gorton's phone number is (908) 276-1323. They have an assortment of vents - from small openings (in the thermostat room) to big openings (rooms far from the thermostat room). Explain to Ken what you are looking to do. He can guide you and probably tell you where your nearest heating/plumbing supply is located.0
