    very sad

Wow that is a shocker. That is very sad, he had so much to give and he gave it generously. He will be missed. This is why we must pass on our knowledge. We don't last forever. He always seem to enjoy life. Im sure he touched a lot of lives in a positive way. May he rest in peace!

    Very sad

and shocking. He always was there to help if he could. This is like losing a member of an extended family. May he rest well, having done all that he could do. Every loss like this is a reminder to us remaining, to do all we can and be kind to all. It don't last forever and sould not be taken for granted. Condolences to the family. WW

    It's a great shame when..

... someone as beloved as Dan passes away... My thoughts are with your family and it's a crying shame that he won't be able to shower his grandchild with the same affection that he has shown to the rest of his family. All the best your family.

Like a Bar or Coffee Shop

Coming to the Wall and similar places is like going to the same bar or coffee shop and you get to amass a large group of friends. In the late 90's I began to frequent the Wall and there was always a core of posters you would always read and Dan was one. During the time when the Wall had a place to show where you were from his would say Dan Peele Ont Can, the first time I read it I rushed and wondered why this guy would tell us when he was On the Can. I had the oppurtunity to meet Dan at Wetstock I. Dan you will be missed.

  • I only knew Peel through his posts here and on Radnet, and always enjoyed reading what he had to say. He seemed to be a kind and helpful fellow, and I'm sad I won't get to see him pop in anymore.

    Thoughts and condolences

I didn't know Dan, but I was actually logging in this morning to write him an email about a possible service visit. He was 99.2 miles from me, the only person on this site within the find a professional range. I was hoping to persuade him to make a road trip. I had notice he posted here, so I figured he must be a good guy. Now I can tell he was seeing how much he'll be missed.

Seeing this message at the top of the page was a little sobering. Our time here is precious, but we sometimes take it for granted. My thoughts go out today to Dan's family.

    So long my friend...

    Dan Peel

A multi talented man garnished with a permanent smile & grin, an adventurer, a teacher - a friend. His eagle eyes and inquisitiveness over the years have gently set straight the technically misaligned and misdirected - thanks for pointing us in the right direction.

Here’s to sunrises everywhere, east coast lobster, Canadian beer and your next journey…

    Will miss you.

    Death

Man that's awfull, his familly will be in my prayers. I've been thinking lately about my own mortality. Just drives the point home that you've got to do what's truly important to you as much as possable, you just never know. Not that we should be selfish , but I find biusness consuming me. We got away for 5 days at the end of the summer but I haven't disapeared for a week since I went to ISH. The wife wants to go to Florida to vist her folks we haven't been down in two years. Screw the clients I'm going.

    Dan Peel

6 years ago I found this site. I was instantley hooked on coming here and learning all that I can. Dan was a big contributor to that. I always felt confident in and respected his responses and comments. He seemed like a great guy, even though my only interaction was over the computer I feel that If I had met him it would be as an old friend. My condolences to his family

    What a loss...

So sorry to hear of his passing. My concern and thoughts to the family. He was too young to leave this world and family so early.

    That's right Joel

Everytime we close the shop for a few days, there is always someone on the machine annoyed that we went away - without fail. One our customers, Mrs Murphy said she couldn't believe we weren't there for her. It didn't matter all the times we were ther for her in XMAS Eve, sundays. The one time we couldn't - we had some nerve...for a drip on a lead bend that had been like that for 5 years! God Bless aDan and his family. On your death bed or in your final hour it is not more $$$$ or cusrtomers that you want just time to be with family and friends. Go on Vacation Joel, Dan Peel would agree. Mad Dog

    You will be missed Dan

As others have said I will miss Dans posts here on the wall. He is one of the generous many who responded to my accident with kind words and wishes. That will be his legacy. Generosity and genuine care for his family and friends and people in general. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his Grandchild. Godspeed Dan. We will all catch up to you for a heavenly wetstock. See you then.

    Prayers for the Peel family

After a long day, I checked in at the Wall to see what has happened... great sadness. I'm only a home-owner, a lurker and occasional poster; but I read & learned from Dan's advice. Dan and his family are in my prayers.

    This is tragic

I spent some time with Dan at the RPA show in Sacramento, we had dinner one nite, when a team of NBA players were at the hotel. Dan and I are both vertically challanged. We had a blast laughing at the trees.

I ran into him at ISH in Boston, I was at the HTP booth, I didnt have as much time to catch up as I would have liked.

I guess, I wont be able to catch up with him for a while now.

    so sad

    to hear this..

At WS1, after things wound down, and most of the guys had headed out, I sat with Dan Peel, Dan Holohan, and Heatboy rehashing the day. I remember thinking about all of what I knew about Peel through his posts, and just like his 'net manner, he was a class act in person. Still can see him, and his signature byline "enjoy" rings in my head.

It seems like "the wall" has lost a brick..

    Wow.......

News like that just leaves me without words to express what I feel. The positive attitude of Dan was simply wonderful. I'm sure that he will be sorely missed by his family and they surely have the prayers of my family. I just can't imagine not having the privilge of not seeing my grandchild grow up. Just last night babysitting the twins that are just over a year old now, was such a wonderful experience for me.

As Dan H. often reminds us.....

Hug your kids... life is SOOOOO fragile, you ever know when it may be your last chance to hug........

Our life is held in the hands of the one who planned our days even before we were born....
