they show installing pressuretrols without a pigtail.
Does anyone know why? and, what would prevent damage to them if there's no pigtail?

With Peerless , the larger steam boiler
instructions show a way to pipe the pressuretrol tree so you do not need individual pigtails . Which model are you referring to ?0 -

Just checked
the website . They have you pipe your own pigtail tree with 1/2 inch tees . Works just as well as a traditional pigtail .0
