I guess I'm not sure where you want to do the size reduction. If you mean from the header to the equalizer then a 2 1/2 to 2 elbo is the way to go, or 2 1/2 in el to a short 2 1/2 nipple to a reduceing coupling 2 1/2 to 2 inch. I don't like bushings in an equalizer or anywhere else although that's probably just me.

Eccentric Reducer?
I have a two pipe system I need to go from 2 1/2" to 2" on the wet return, should i use an eccentric reducer.
Can anyone sell me one, no one has no idea what i am talking about in my city0 -
Indeed you should
The idea being not to trap water in the big pipe. The other way is to plan the slope, like to an equalizer, so that you can drop to a standard reducer in the vertical position and then keep the slope going down to the wet return. All depends on if you have the height.0 -
My problem is that I can not find 2 1/2" pipe to get to the equilizer, I have plenty of 2" but not the 2 1/2",
are there any ideas that i could use instead of the reducer?
could use an elbow to get me to the 2" and then another elbow and start running 2"0
