Rumblings from the North Pole

Our 11 year-old-son, who has already confessed his dis-belief in the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy, was posed the question of his belief in Santa Claus. Keep in mind that he is a brainiac, logical thinker, and future Nobel Peace Prize winner, so I am sure what he "really" thinks.
He said, "sure I do -- do you?" I said that I have believed in Santa Claus all of my life. Why? Because he keeps bringing me presents every year -- the health and happiness of my family (and maybe a tie or pair of socks). I said that as long as you believe, you will always get presents. So I guess he is hooked for life. That's okay with me.
Children make this a special time of year. There are so many bad things happening in our world -- a family of four was murdered over the weekend in Detroit -- that we need to reinforce the importance of family, and of love. Spread the word that strong families can change the world.
Hug your children and if your children have left the nest or if you don't have children, become a friend to a boy or girl who might need some extra love and attention. There are many ways to do it -- seek out one of your choosing.
Although it's a bit early, Merry Christmas my friends.

My 8 year old
is struggling this year. I can see the transition from believing and not believing taking place.
But he still believes. Last night he asked me which list I thought he was on, naughty or nice. He asked me how many bad things you had to do to get on the naughty list.
I told him not to worry, that his Mom and I thought he was a very good boy this year.
Both of my children know that we celebrate Christmas because of the birth of Jesus Christ. He is the reason for Christmas.

Actually I was up at Santas
He called the other day with no heat...he never schedules regular tune ups for his oil system..he is a busy guy. Pressure control was bad. But at least the elves have been flushing the LWCO. My 7 year old asks me how I get to the North pole and I said I dont know Santa calls, Sends Comet and Vixon to get me. I just wait in the street, they get in front of the truck and its like you snap your fingers and I am there. I figure it is a longer trip than it feels..but after all Santa is magic. Every year around this time I go to the North Pole for some sort of service call. I have been servicing Santa's boiler since 1989. Not a bad deal..............Gotta have heat ...it is cold up there.
Merry Christmas to all
