Thermostatic Radiator Valve Installation

I have a two pipe district steam system.
I have three radiators that are not connected to the same main pipe (which are controled by the house thermostat) and thre temperture gets very hot in those rooms.
I would like to install thermostatic radiator valves on those radiators.
My question is: If I shut off the district steam to the whole house can I safely install these valves without the chance of ruining the valve or any other components, upon allowing steam back into the system? Or should I wait until summer?

If you can turn off the steam it will be just like a summer situation.

I would go to the find a professional link on this site. Depending upon the age of the system there are a lot of things that can go wrong.

Also, these guys have all the right tools to do the job.

    Just my $0.02 worth.

    Thanks BB,
There are no professionals listed for Cedar Rapids, IA where I live.
    Or within 100 mile radius.
I have some tools and a little bit of information. ( I know that can be dangerous).
I just want to know about replacing the valves, with city steam, in the winter time. All help will be appreciated. Thanks, Dallas

when you call woody ask him to send you his information on district steam with valves/oriface plates. if you plate all of the radiation units you can save a consertable amount of steam ,with that savings comes a monertary savings as well.
