    I just gotta ask

How did you get power with the utilities 2 elect meters resting behind the flue? And why 2, a duplex?

    Good question Dale

This was a duplex and is being reovated.

There are three cottages out back and they are back feeding thru one of the cottages. Actually if you look close there are three of them.

Man, you guys have good eyes :)

    Kevin,

The swing on the door makes it by the column closely, but does! The "Staiway to Nowhere" was an interesting touch on this one. It was always in the way and holds no special purpouse other than being in the way.

I wish you guy's could see the floor systems for some of these installs. The floor joists can be anywhere from 16" to 39" spaced. The walls are just the same, and trying to fix baseboard is a challenge at best.

Just keep in mind that most of these shacks were built with whatever washes up on the shore, as far as lumber goes, and the floors were leveled by notching the "carrying beams" so the flooring looked good.
Cups and dips ...are the norm. I can put a level on anything, and it will look messed up! We learn to vary the lines to match the environment. (ask Scott, he knows!)

Ahh, the challenges . I love em'. Having to work in the oldest part of the country provides it's own "unique" challenges. Do it long enough and we learn the ins and outs.

Maybe the supplier was giving me old stock on the air scoop, but I've asked for them on the last couple of installs and received them. Hope they haven't stopped making them. I like em. Chris

P.S. Dale, I know the panel was new and the outside switch works...That's all I need to know !. Don't care where the power comes from, as long as it's there. (one of the electricians asked if he to could take one of the meters home to see how they worked, but his DAD, who owns the company put it out of his head in short order.) J.C.A.

    we all like to brag

it is a nice job, but get rid of that awful B&G with autovent and put in a spirovent, you'll never use anything else again.

Look at that! , Pro-press fittings on the relief valve piping!! Moderation in all good things Chris, you're getting a little carried away with that pro-press. My boss would have deducted the cost of that fitting from my pay!

    Bill,

Object of the game is get in, get out and on to the next job especially this time of year. I'll use any tool that makes it happen quicker. Time is money!

Jeff, I like the B&G air scoop just fine. It works well at way under the cost of a Spirovent. I do like the Spirovent also, but where space isn't a big issue, some of the other air eliminators work just as well.(JMHO)

Ejw, It's my job and I happen to work better with the Ramones or The Clash blasting in the backround. The only time the radio gets shut down is when I'm making sure there are no leaks. I can't see too well and my back is junk, but I can still hear. Go to your strenghths!

Ted, the contractor likes a good boiler but doesn't usually go for ALL the bells and whistles. In this case it wouldn't be that big of a deal as the insulation is all but non-existant, and the total amount of baseboard is about 90'.

Mr. Hunt, Take your party issues to the boss! I ain't gonna stand for your bi#$%^@ in MY posts! Thanks for the compliments and I'm with you....another 20 or 30 of these and I might just get it down. Chris

Here is my thoughts on air elimination.

A properly designed, pumping away, feed at the point of no preasure change, system, has NO need of a spirovent.

Its a great product and at times we haved used them ( sometime's because my supplier throws it on the order ) But I see no need for the product unless we are trying to correct and older system with air problems.

Thanks for the comments. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Hey Hunt, come and get em ...
