What is the optimum setback to program into a Honeywell thermostat? I have everything from two to ten degrees. Currently, I have mine at a five degree setback from 8 AM to 5 PM & from 11 PM to 5Am. Base temp is 68 degrees. Anyones thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Depends
If the temperature never plateaus at the lower level you're just riding an energy flywheel and not really saving anything. Also, if your heating system was really well engineered and not overspec'd, on a design day, your house would recover or would do extremely slowly. If it doesn't have intelligent recoevery then it won't be recovered when it is really cold out and likewise will recover to soon when it is milder out.0
