150E McDonnell-Miller issues?

I just received a call from a contractor who said he is having trouble with the 150E working intermittently.
It has been working properly since spring but in the last two days the pump switch hasn't closed to power the pump. The lwco then shuts down the boiler. The control then flashes and eventually (1-3 hours later) will activate the pump.
The contractor is going to pull the head and inspect. Is there anything he should look for?
Has anyone had any issues with the 150E?
Thanks for any help!

Check for
scale or chemical buildup on the probes. If chems are used, should pull & clean more often than once per year.
