steam thermostat

I have a number of problems that I am chasing down in my 1900 steam heated house: wet steam, short cycling, a little bit of hammer. I do have the required 28" from water line to lowest steam carrying pipe (the wet return) but the boiler piping is a bit odd. Before I resort to drastic measures (such as repiping) I've discovered that the thermostat I have, a Honeywell MagicStat/32, does not have "a setting for steam/gravity air" and that [c]ycles would not be long enough for accurate temperature control." It seems like this is a good place to start. Can anyone recommend a programmable thermostat for steam?
