    Humidifier

We condition with a Nortec Steam humidifier.

Nortec is wired in series with fan/coil...when air is moving its humidity is measured and controlled.

Low speed on fan/coil is constant air flow and temperature...based on our ventilation rate (exhaust and make up air)...thermostatic valve with actuator and remote discharge air sensor is set for constant room discharge temp (70 deg F). Thus the reason for steam...70 deg F is too low for anything but a steam type.

A second control valve and 24 volt actuator is in parallel with the thermostatic valve and connected to a second stage thermostat.

1st stage heat is a radiant wall, 2nd stage if required switches fan to high speed and powers open the 24 Volt actuator allowing discharge air temperature to rise to a nominal 130 deg F.

It’s the best of all worlds.

Constant Ventilation, Humidification, Radiant Comfort, and Standby heat in case of really nasty or sudden changes in weather.

thanks for the reply looks real nice but it's more then what I really need all id like is a humidifier that will fit on my return duct and not cause a big water bill :-)

I only need the humidity at night when we sleep

    thanks

    aprilaire #600

Use an Aprilaire #600 with the Auto-Trak control and piped to hot water. To automatically cycle the A.H. blower, use the control that comes with their ventilation control. Works great

    Fan-powered humidifier...

like our HE360 will do fine, it comes with the Humidi-calc automatic control. You don't need to hook it up to the hot water, it will work just fine with cold. Available from any Honeywell PerfectClimate or Enviracare Elite distributor.

    Humidifier

I prefer Aprilaire. Do NOT get a reservoir type. no matter who makes it. The stuff that grows in those things could be used in a Sci-Fi flick. And it can make you sick.

thanks guys both of the ones you show do not require making a hole in the supply duct at all right.

I just need one hole on the return or do they need a small 6 inch hole in the supply also?
