Installed a 25K btu space heater manufactured by Williams. The original ignitor lasted a couple of months and the first replacement lasted only two months... anyone w/similiar problems?

igniter? If so make sure your voltage is under 125 volts. Also is the igniter flat or on its side, on the side with minimum exposure to flame is best. Make sure there are no contaminants in the combustion area. Is this an atmospheric burner or is it sealed combustion chamber and using outside air? What is actually happening to the igniters? Are they cracked or is the ceramic scorched? Is there any drywall dust, fiberglass, sealants around anywhere? Is there any condensate dripping on the unit, this can be caused by a vent being exposed to very cold temperatures even on a non boiler application. Make sure the input to the unit is correct an over gassed system will shorten igniter life as will short cycling and poor flame stability. If you have a combustion tester hook it up and see what you have going on in the combustion area. Is the igniter being used as a flame sensor also or do you have a seperate flame sensor, in either case hook up your microamp meter and monitor flame stability while at the same time using your combustion tester.

Have you discussed this with the folks at Williams they may have some answers that pertain to their unit.
