This boiler replaces an arcoliner with a 1725 burner. The system has 2 zones and one is a split loop(valves are hidden in the floor above). They had 2 taco 110 circs and some oil leaks. The buderus worked great here and cleaned everything right up. I will try to find the pics of the old system and post them later. Thanks

    another one

I think this boiler looks good in any basement. This is a differant boiler job but I think it came out just as nice. We had a pin hole in a steel 90 and the circ still had its check valve that is why the floor is wet. I normaly will remove the checks with zone valves. thanks mellow

    Nice work.....

makes me want to do more installs. I would suggest a tempering valve out of the IDWH to stretch the capacity of hot water and for safety. I like your idea of the angle valve to the header. I can always use a different perspective in piping. Best Regards,

    Nice Work!

While the picture of the older system isn't your prototypical disaster job, it does feature the pump on the return, garden-hose valves, etc. It's always telling to see how much the flue sizes shrink with newer boilers that are actually matched to the home that they're in, rather than the one-finger, two-finger approach to system sizing (or Dan Holohans recent boiler-sizing Blog entry).

As usual, your piping and electrical work is straight, logical, etc. in ways that can only make the homeowner smile and make his or her buddies come down to the basement to see the new boiler. In other words, I hope you continue to get lots of word-of-mouth referrals from these two great jobs.

If there is one thing I would do differently, it would be to insulate those pipes running through the basement.

Thanks for posting pictures. In this day of radiant, low loss headers, pex, etc..., it is nice to see the efforts made to do nice, neat installs in a basic(??-lost for a word) system.
