    It's obsolete.

The new Vic fittings just made the "greatest time saver on earth" obsolete.

Never wanted one. Never bought one and the lack of reducing fittings, etc. and the price gouging that was rampant on the fittings was obscene.

    The Vast Majority...

...of what I get involved in is steel pipe, so I've never looked very closely at the ProPress. Most guys on this board would do more copper in an average day than I would in a year.

I heard of these fittings from Russians an Englanders....

the fact vitraulic is making them sounds worth investigating. i didnt persue it much ,other then reading up on the push fittings, from England. i tried some of the Just for Copper glue system and in my opinion it is the last thing in the world to ever consider. so far we have torn apart and replace two headers and one was in inch and a half. Twice the fun :)) now i am really experienced:))))

You kill me, Obsolete ... I think not. This product is just starting. I would take a Hydrolicly formed connection over a "stab" fitting any day.

I guess its Obsolete because all the suppliers are trying to get the fittings and they can't make the tools quick enough ?

If someone is gouging the price of the fittings you better look at the other products they are selling. Unscrupulous is as unscrupulous does.

Better ask these same suppliers how much they'll be charging for the new "stab" fittings and twist and lock stuff.

    My moneys on the Pro-Press.

    Slip fittings

I don't think I could bring myself to install those slip type fittings. Looked at them at ISH (not Vics, but similar) Just a stainless steel ring "holding" the fitting together. I'll stick with a mechanical or threaded type joint where there is solid metel to metal contact.

Call me old fashioned I guess

Whoda' thunk ProPress would be in the old fashioned category??
