I am looking to install in my firebox a gas insert that was used during the turn of the century up until about 1920. It is a cast iron item....high back...with asbestos-like material in the front. Just in front of the asbestos-like material was a curved lower half where gas would flow, and you could light it like a gas stove..you could then adjust the gas pressure for high or low flames...does anyone know what this was called..or does anyone have a picture....or does anyone know where one can be found!?
