dis-colored domestic hot water

Anyone have a good sound explanation why domestic hot water tends to dis-color when it has not been used for a while. I have a four zone domestic hot water system with returns using Ajax semi-instantaneous hot water boilers. When the hot water has not been used for a while it comes out with a brownish tint. The building is located in New york city. I do not believe the supply is the cause and besides the cold water is not effected. The building is brand new, brass and copper no black pipe issuses. Why would the heated water tend to dis-color? I appreciate your thoughts.

Does the water smell like rotten eggs? If so, could be an anode going bad in the water heater...Robert O'Connor/NJ0 -
If water...
sits long enough, even in copper, it'll turn brown. Do you have a way to move that water occasionally? It sounds potentially unhealthy.
Yours, Larry .....ps. What are the Ajax boilers made of?0
