Does anyone know anything about Bryan boilers? Do they make a good steam boiler?

To the best of my knowledge,

they went out of business some time ago. There may be a steel boiler maker of the same name however.

The original c.i. Bryan's were less than average quality. I cannot speak to the new company.

I am uncertain about what I speak - so don't bank on any of it except the quality commentary of the older units. That was gleaned first hand.

    Bryan Boilers

BRYAN Boilers - Peru, Indiana manufacturers steel, flexible watertube boilers for steam and hot water, up to 500 HP.

BRYANT - was a cast iron boiler, and as far as I know went out of business several years ago

    Just one opinion

The flexible tube idea makes each water tube free to expand on its own regardless of what the other things in the boiler are doing. That's great because you avoid the leaking ends that are so common to Scotch Marine type boilers.

I don't know if it will be just as easy to replace a flexible tube, or even find the right part 60 years from now. Straight tubes will remain appealing, for maintenance and repair purposes, but new boilers are exciting.

Lochinvar and Miura make a flexible tube boiler too.

Bryan is a good brand. The firm is very responsive. I know one Bryan steam application and it has given no problem. It's not 60 years old yet, still waiting!
