If you choose Munchkin you could use multiple units
this will give you redundancey and you can use vision 111 to cascade them as your demand increases. This way you only use the the btu's needed for the load demand. ALL will be fully modulating.
You can leave the old unit in place as an extra heater in the event we have a severe winter and the multiple munchkins reached the total load output an auxilary contact will pull in and fire the existing bolier when the extra btu's are needed.
If you have multiple zones that need different temps say a few in floor at multiple low temp's and air handlers at a higher temp you could apply vision 11 and do it all. Each vision 11 control can supply you with up to 4 temps and then multiple zones off each of the four different temp zones.
If you are intersted in this fully modulating high efficiency 92% stainless steel appliance that has no fear for very low return temps say in snow melt and needs no protection against even 30 degree return temps, then this is the heater for you.
Feel free to contact our sales or tech support staff for info or we can direct you to a rep in your area.0 -
For your application I like the Buderus system.

You can go either way...
...HTP and Buderus offer great heating systems. Since you're after a a system that can offer multiple temperatures, also think hard about the control system. The Logomatic system should be capable of the same cascading, etc. as the Vision 2, so there is no great point of distinction, as best as I can tell (I'm a mere homeowner who attended some training at HTP).
For me, the deciding factor between the two company choices would be to find an installer who is happy and experienced with one or both brands. A good installer makes all the difference, as even Viessmann equipment can get butchered.
Because of their sophistication, modern heating appliances are unforgiving WRT bad installs. There is a bit of lore on the Wall about Munchkin issues...but most of them had to do with bad installs, not the product itself. Similarly, I doubt that the GB124 series from Buderus will be happy about sloppy installs either. So get a contractor that listens and that is happy to follow install instructions or call HTP/Buderus when he/she is stumped. Folks that say "a boiler is a boiler" need to be shown the door immeadiately.
For your application, I would consider a condensing, modulating gas appliance as the only option. Gas prices are high now and are projected to remain high for the forseeable future. Thus, I imagine you'll recover the marginal difference between a non-condensing and a condensing gas system in short time. Two M199 units should do great, as would two GB142/60 units.
The deciding vote between the two systems in my mind is whether you prefer a Al vs. a stainless heat exchanger and who your installer is. Either way, you'll save a lot of energy.0 -
Munchkin
boiler would be the right choice for that installed.
Hydro air at 140,indirect at 55,radiant at 120..yum,yum,
yum, says the munchkin on that cold xmas night.
Happy holidays everyone.0
