I used to make them like that 20 years ago. No colored markers though.

looks a little like a B&G.

It's fairly easy to form a cover from some flashing aluminum. It's soft enough to roll the shape and them use a linesman type (wide nosed) pliers to fold the overlap edge. You really only need the overlap where the screws fasten it to the case. I've done a few Although not UL approved!
