The market changes every day. The highest I've ever seen ia a little over a dollar, the least is under fifty cents. If you could predict the market, let me know, because more beer money is always better.

What is a decent price I should be getting today?
Not sure where to find this value per/Lb. I've heard it's up right now and the scrap dealer is offering: .85/Lb today.
Is that good $$$,,, or should I hold & watch the market? Where do I watch this from?

In March
Back in March of this year (and the year is almost gone!), I sold some scrap I had been holding. I usually sell in November or December and I'm getting a load up now. Anyway, I waited last year and am glad I did.
I got $1.00 per pound for #2 copper and $1.10 per pound for #1 copper. December last year, it was slightly more than half that.
I know we aren't supposed to post pricing here, but I thoght it would be okay this time.

Depends on what China
is hungry for. They seem to be the biggest influence scrap metal prices lately. I've scraped #2 copper from .37 to just over a buck a pound.
Hard to know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.

Copper prices
Copper's at $1.39/lb on the CMX as of Friday's close. That should put #1 at over $1.10 at the scrap yard. I'd call first and get a quote. Unless you have a relationship with your scrap man, getting a quote with the name of the quoter before going in is good idea.

Saturday
I spent most of Saturday getting the scrap together I have been collecting since March.
Here's a couple of shots of what I loaded on to the trailer. The clickable link shows how I've got it loaded.
