That is a clean looking brass tube...

those are 1/2" taps so,the tap into the towel bar is 1/2 " as well? Although pricey, i would like to find a line on some Brass pipe,To thread or sweat.. have you ever looked into it? i think id like to do a brass manifold have you seen any in your journeys?
