Furnace tempeture

Could anyone give me a ball-park figure as to the maximum temp inside an oil-fired furnace. It's an OLD Thatcher octapus. Thanks . . . .

What do you mean inside? Are you talking inside the plenum? If so I would guessimate somewhere between 150-200, after a few minutes of running(you should have a high limit set at 225-250).0 -
Personally, I would set the high limit at 180*.
I'd say fan on at 130*, off at 110* but you called it an octapus so I'm figuring it's gravity.
