Some install tips
I will start my second Ultra install this week. A couple mods I do in the shop before delivery to the job. A quick simple step to move the wiring connections to the front acess panel. All the wiring reaches without cutting or lenghting. Basically drill some holes to re fasten the terminal strips to the front. 1" spacers keep the wiring above the mount plate. Check all the crimp ends. I found very loose ones on both boilers. Merely squeeze the ends with a linesmen pliers to tighten them.
Make sure to get the wiring labels transfered correctly!
The knockouts to use the bottom connections DON'T! Use a holesaw!
I remove the long 1" tube that goes along the return side and screw a 1-1/4" nipple into the bottom of the boiler. good place to install a Y strainer. Works for me to use top supply and bottom return. And it allows me to jump up to 1-1/4" at the boiler.
I like the adjustable legs. I did extend them to make service a little easier.
They fire very smoothly and run quietly even at high fire.
My first was a snowmelt. Next is a large DHW load with some small radiant.
The 230,000 fits a gap in the Munchkin's lineup which jumps from 199 to 399. And the upright configuration fit my needs better than the long and low Munchkin.

So far so good...
have installed a number of the boilers... all 155's and 230's.
They have performed very wel and one boiler has well over 10 thousand hours of run time. 2 others are pushing 8 thousand.
Surge protection is a plus.... a small ups set to just filter the power works well. If you run your LP unit out of fuel you may have to hold your hand over the horn to get the gas valve to burp the air and fire the unit....learned that one just last week.
Moving the terminal strips make it easier to get to, but the one on the left side that HR did will make it much harder to hook a PC to the control module if you ever want to do that, it plugs in right there beside were he mounted the strip. With a bit of planning you can very easily wire the unit before you set it.
Come to think of it, I think that the PC connection is going to be moved to the front of the panel in the near future, so check your unit it may have that moved.....
If you want to use the outdoor reset, check the intructions and you will want to run the lower end of the curve down from the 32 that it is set at.
With a bit of ingenuity you can do most anything that you want with that unit.
It really is amazing how quiet the units are and it is often hard to tell what rate they are firing at. Also the eff. are simply amazing, the 230 that I started up today was running at 130 out and 126 in low fire, 98.6%......many times you will see the flue temps. below the return water temps.
As you can probably tell by now... I really love the Ultra.
Havin' more fun than a human being should be aloud to have....playin' with the Ultra boiler.. :-)

ultra computer hook up
Floyd Have you hooked up a computer to any of yours? How difficult is this to do and will I be able to change settings from the computer, say outdoor reset temp.?
Thanks

The computer hookup...
Alows you to monitor in real time the basic functions of the boiler, read errors, and change parameters. When the parameters are changed you can immediately toggle back to the monitor screen and see what effect the changes have had.
The program seems to work very well. I have so far hooked up to 4 or 5 of the boilers I have installed and have had no trouble. It makes it very easy to see exactly what the boiler is doing with out having to toggle around on the face of the unit. The software also comes iwth a number of parameters for different boilers and configurations already setup, just have to punch a few keys to load them into the control, you can then modify the parameters if you want to....
The hookup to the laptop takes all of a few minutes. Just plug into the control and the PC and your all set.
Pretty cool!!!
