Hartford Loop

I was looking at our soon to be replaced 1920s boiler to check out the near boiler piping. We have two wet returns running around the basement wall and meeting in a single pipe which drops a couple of feet then slants to the boiler but rises a little at a right angle before going into the boiler. Two mains come off the header one has what I assume is a drip that drops back into the lower part of the back of the boiler. I don't see any Hartford Loop in this arrangement. Am I missing something?
