Anyone know of how I can find interested buyers for 100 yr old steam radiators with embossings on the sides? I am from northern New Jersey.

There is a scrap metal yard....

in Wallington, NJ I have been to and the old man there has a few old style "victorians". They have the scroll work on the tops....Some are two columned, one or two are three-columned. They need some SERIOUS sandblasting as they are outside and rusty. The owner is an old-timer....can tell lots of stories...He says that he can test to see if they leak for you, but no guarantee.

    I also know a website....http://www.recyclingthepast.com/Default.asp

Click on building materials and that should take you to a radiator page. They are in SOUTH Jersey. They also have a few that need SERIOUS care!

Good luck. I am still looking for ONE victorian-style for an upstairs bedroom....three columns about 22 inches and 7-8 sections....that does not need too much restoration...but it is like finding a needle in a haystack!

Post some pictures. I, too, am looking for a certain style to put into a kitchen remodel.

I almost forgot a great one....

you can try a place in NYC called Olde Good Things. They can get you ANYTHING you want for an old house. They actually have a warehouse in Penn that is stocked with all sorts of building supplies from old homes in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Harlem, etc. They are pricey, but those old rads sure look WONDERFUL in a refurbished Victorian home. People remark about mine all the time when they come to visit...they are also intrigued by their condition and size!
