Copper Piping Supplying Radiator

We have just remodeled our bathroom. The bathroom had two radiators. One of the radiators was removed and both supply and return pipes were capped with copper fittings. Both of the pipe ends now under a new tile floor.

The remaining radiator has been reinstalled with bronze fittings and soldered copper pipes going into the floor. It struck me today that I never seen copper piping for steam lines. Is there any rule or industry standard allowing or prohibiting use of copper piping for steam lines? I believe, I should address the issue with the general contractor who is responsible for the project and, I think, is “cutting corners” on plumbers labor and has done the work himself.

Please advise.

Thank you.
