    loud noise in my boiler please help

    i peerless oil boiler that was converted to gas. on start up.the boiler wonld make a vibrating noise that was loud.
    when i open the round cover where you see flame the noise stop. can any tell me whats happening and what ca be done?

    ......my guess a '85-'86 Jot that needs cleaning. Shut it down and call for service as Steamhead has mentioned.
