Vaporstat AND pressuretrol

My steam boiler has both a vaporstat and a pressuretrol coming off the same tee.My question is which is controling the boiler? The values for the main and differential are the same on the vaporstat....am I right that this would disable the vaporstat and I would be running on the pressuretrol?Would simply setting the values on the vaporstat overide the pressurtrol?

Vaporstat
Without seeing the wiring, I can only guess, but probably the Pressuretrol is used as a high limit in series with the Vaprostat, which does the cycling on a call for heat.
Depending upon your system and the Vaporstat model, you may be able to go as low as 8 ounces on your Vaporstat high setting.0 -
Vaporstats
It's a Honeywell,with 16 oz.the max setting on both the main and diff. side.0
