Can anyone tell me the size and type vent i should have on my system?
Off my steam boiler comes a 3" header it runs about ten feet with 1-1/4" tees and risers to a third floor unit
there are 6 radiators on the floor, all 1-1/4 piped
the 3" main is dripped at the end and the vent is on the end of the return just befor it drops down the the return into the boiler.

I'd use
two Gorton #1 or Hoffman #75 vents on that main, on a tee at the end of the main.
3-inch sounds a bit big for just 6 radiators- was this the outside diameter of the pipe? And did it also feed the first and second floors at one time? Is this a one-pipe or two-pipe system?
