Discussion at WETSTOCK V

at Wetstock V on Saturday?

At the last Wetstock I brought my suitcase trainer and we went over troubleshooting various control systems. It also helped to develop some control replacement strategies.

We can offer the following control systems on a working unit.

Thermocouples

24 volt systems with standing pilot

Retrofit from 24 volt standing pilot to spark ignition

Troubleshooting electric ignition systems

Direct Spark Ignition

Hot Surface Ignition

SmartValve operation and troubleshooting

We break this up throughout the day so you are not stuck at one table all day and have a chance to move around.

Is there anything elso you would like to cover?

If this is not something you are all interested in let me know and I can come up with something else from Carbon Monoxide to Combustion testing etc.

    Tim, I can't be there

but I'd suggest Carbon Monoxide and Combustion Testing, in addition to the ones you listed. We all know these are two hot issues.

    Tim..

Combustion air, how important yet soooo overlooked. Maybe the relationship between combustion air for atmospheric burners and OTHER fans competing for the same air within a structure, and how they are (or should) be applied in relation to CO testing...Robert O'Connor/NJ

    Mr. O'Conner hits it

    as well as Steamhead.

I like the idea of showing the guys and gals what to look for.

Might draft OK with no other exhausts running, but what if the clothes dryer is on?

Show them Timmie. Show them what can and does happen when we leave.

You guys attending this one, go listen to Timmie.

You could mention common venting of atmospheric appliances with fan assisted as well.

Sorry I can't be there this time around.

    I'll miss seeing you folks.

    Tim,

Combustion testing and new burner start up procedure. I am an oil guy from way back and I am familiar with test equipment, but the gas stuff........ I see new stuff all the time, not real comfortable. My employer does not believe in education so I can't attend your school.
  • It looks like a need

for a mixed agenda. Perhaps some discussion on proper installation to avoid CO issues and air for combustion issues is in order. I will bring the suitcase just in case we get bored. Thanks guys for the input.

Having gone to a few of Tim's

classes, I know he could pack a couple of suitcases. This is a good chance for anyone who has not met Tim, to get a chance to nibble at his brain. Once you do, you will want to sign up for his classes.
