Manifold & Pex connection

Hi, I have a Rehau Pro-balance manifold with flo gauges. It of course is configured to sit above the floor and have the pex tubing connected from the bottom. I however already have my pex coming down into my basement from the floor above and the crete is already poured. So now I have the pex coming to the manifold from above. Both the supply and return manifold sections will rotate so the connections are at the top but will the flo gauges work if they are upside down? Thanks for any input, Jim

I should add that even though I paid for 500 ft. of pex and the installer took about 100 ft. of that back with him, he did not leave enough pex hanging into the basement so that I could loop the pex down and up into the manifold like for instance what Goldmans picture of the Wirsbo shows. Jim0 -
Maybe
I've tinkered with this Watts Dunsmar and Oventrop (OV has a much bigger window) in various positions and they seem to work. These have springs against the float. If you have the type with the floating indicator, like the old Blue and Whites, those must be vertical, and upright.
I'm not sure how accurate they tiny flow gauges are anyway. The numbers and distance of travel is so small it's hard to get real accurate Keep all your loops the same length (on the zone)and the flow setters are a mute point.
Keep in mind when you adjust one you need to recheck all the others. Takes some time to dial them all in. Work quickly, dirty or rusty water makes the tiny windows usless after a short while

So you have two, 200 ' equal loops.........
and you have a rehau header ....to me...i dont see a need for it.0 -
Thanks Gents for the input, yes I agree, I didn't need the gauges to start with but I got a deal and didn't realize till later that the manifold is built for connecting from the bottom. It has the spring gauges and since they don't seem to matter, then you are saying it doesn't matter if I flip the manifld upside down to receive the short pex connections?0 -
Jim
contact Rehau tech support for their opinion. I have not used that brand, that I know of, so I really can't give you a thumbs up.
Sounds like a couple couplings and some short sections of pex could turn the whole thing around for you. That may be easier than getting permission to mount it upside down. I know what I would do

Thanks Hotrod, I was thinking about the couplings and extra pex too. Then there is no compromise with the manifold. It can be used properly.0
