Circulator Mounting Height

Is there an ideal mounting height for a circulator? Will mounting the circulator a certain number of inches above a manifold provive better circulation? If there is a formula, is it dependant upon the manifold diameter and the supply and return diameter?

The height of a circulator
location is irrelevant to its performance. Assuming it is pumping away from the PONPC.
It the pump sucks the water - rather than pushing it, the height of the circulator would be a very relevant consideration.
The reason for this phenomenon is the head pressure of the pump will be subtractive if it discharges into the PONPC. It will be additive if installed with the suction inlet close to the PONPC. With water temps high, the circulator will cavitate and be destroyed if it sucks water, rather than pushes it.
Dan's book "Pumping Away" is the seminal work on the topic. I urge you to buy it.
