who is a wonderful editor, took that article from my new book, We Got Steam Heat, which is selling like crazy right now as a result.
Glad you liked it. Thanks.

Old House Journal radiator vent article
The OHJ issue with Dan Holohan's article arrived in yesterday's mail. Must have been six months in the pipeline... a great diversion from too much election analysis.0 -
Link
Dan, any chance of a link to the Journal text? I too really like WGSH, nothing like an educated consumer to get money spent fixing up old systems. I'm using knucklehead now instead of worse choices.0 -
They don't
have the current magazine online. They post older articles but not this issue. It's pretty much right out of the book, though. Thanks.Retired and loving it.0 -
OHJ
But the pictures are better! (Only joking, except for #4 below.)
For those who haven't seen the article:
1. the article starts with a line-drawing of a happy radiator.
2. the sectional view of a typical air vent is the same.
3. a sectional view of a one-pipe systim in situ appears to be a reproduction from a dead man's manual.
4. the Burnham No. B2 Chromium-plated Adjustable Radiator valve is beautiful enough to make me wish I have a one-pipe system... almost!0
