who is a wonderful editor, took that article from my new book, We Got Steam Heat, which is selling like crazy right now as a result.

Glad you liked it. Thanks.

Old House Journal radiator vent article

The OHJ issue with Dan Holohan's article arrived in yesterday's mail. Must have been six months in the pipeline... a great diversion from too much election analysis.

    Link

Dan, any chance of a link to the Journal text? I too really like WGSH, nothing like an educated consumer to get money spent fixing up old systems. I'm using knucklehead now instead of worse choices.

    They don't

have the current magazine online. They post older articles but not this issue. It's pretty much right out of the book, though. Thanks.

    OHJ

But the pictures are better! (Only joking, except for #4 below.)

For those who haven't seen the article:
    1. the article starts with a line-drawing of a happy radiator.
    2. the sectional view of a typical air vent is the same.
    3. a sectional view of a one-pipe systim in situ appears to be a reproduction from a dead man's manual.
    4. the Burnham No. B2 Chromium-plated Adjustable Radiator valve is beautiful enough to make me wish I have a one-pipe system... almost!
