Stadler / Wirsbro

Can anyone give me a comparison on which they feel is better, stadler or wirbro and why, for radiant heating.

I have used Wirsbro but not stadler. Are they all pretty much the same?

    Wirsbo

Wirsbo is made in Minnesota, Stadler in Germany. Let's try to support American made products when we can...

Stadler is now Viega North America. Viega (a large European copper fitting manufacturer) bought Stadler some years ago and have been transitioning the name. It is now Viega NA though.

Viega is of high quality and thats all we use.

Viega also makes the fitting for the Propress. Ridgid makes the tool.

    Right from Viega http://www.climatepanel.com/about.asp

I used and bought the Wirsbo expander and I wasnt impressed with the system so I went back to Viega.

All these brands are quite good. I have found that you just need to pick one and stay with that one. Each brand has their own fittings- they are not interchangeable from one brand to another. I have lots of stray fittings from past jobs where I used one brand, then switched to another. I finally settled on a PEX-AL-PEX tube for baseboard loops and home runs to manifolds, and a PEX tube for in slab.
