No...
I have over a million linear feet of it installed. You know something we don't know, or are you just shopping?

not just shopping, I have a client buying a million dollar house and they have heard of some information that this type of tubing has been complained about or possibly recalled and are worried about failure in the next 10 yrs or so.0 -
To my knowledge...
the only recalled tubing I'm aware of was Entran 2 made by Goodyear. They've reached a class action settlement.
The only other tubing related failure/recall had to do with acetyl fittings used on Poly Butylene tubing.
To the best of my knowledge, there are no known problems with cross linked polyethylene tubing (PEX). Have there been failures? Sure, when you make a billion feet of ANYTHING, you can expect some glitches, but nothing warranting a major recall. BTW, E2 was a rubber hose, not a plastic tube.

The only
problem ever heard about/saw, was on the big W's very early manifolds, sometimes the tube at the connections would "weep", not leak, just weep. But have not heard or seen this in the last 6-7 years.
Good product as far as my knowledge goes.

i also have installed Miles and miles of wirsbo hepex....
havent seen a problem. The Wirsbo crowd randomly stops extruders samples the "Run"notes its time place batch numbers the samples etc etc etc...perhaps someone is trying to sell you some other brand. in which case let me say Rehau is a fine product also.ive installed both in the new homes we build here in alaska.honestly it is easier for me to use both red for supply white for return..in the "Field" i use orange stadler for a zone red rehau for another white wirsbo for anotherjust because it is all very fine quality and its easier to remember whats what when you come back at it. i like the wirsbo fittings the best...however the stainless fittings from rehau make a clean shiney install:) i am not Keen on any of the wrench style compression fittings nomatter the manufacturer.0 -
I should have prequalified this statement...
There have been no known PEX tubing failures in "CLOSED LOOP" systems. There have been some failures noted in OPEN LOOP systems with high chlorine content, but no recalls. They were isolated and fixed. (Plasco)
