This is the Ultra 155 with Plus 60 tank. We ran four zones, one radiant zone for bathroom floor, outside shower wall, and two small walls by whirlpool tub. Wall radiant works great, it was easy to install and heats up quickly.
I also installed a hot water recirculation pump on water heater. On large ranch homes it is almost a necessity rather than a luxury.

    green flanges and red pumps??????

    wazzup wit that???? :-)
Great looking job..... I would have put isolation valves on the returns of the zones and not hard piped the gas line right to the boiler..... minor preference issues...
Looks like it should work great!!!

    Flyod ?

Why not hard pipe to the boiler ? I see the use of CSST as a down side when installed right to the applaince. Actually many of the MFGs are requesting that a steel riser be used at the applaince. Just wondering what your thougths are.

This is a very neat installation. Maybe a weather responsive controll instead of a thermostatic device would provide better comfort to the floor heat.

Also dos'nt the circulator on the radiant want to be pumping away from the thermostaic mixer instead of pumping into ?

Why the bypass on the feed to the radiant ? I understand a manual by-pass, but right on the feed to the floor ??

    What am I missing ?

    Hey Scott....

I think your looking at it bass ackwards....the feed IS the pipe on the T side of the mixer, and the pump is there. The pipe with the bypass is the eturn from the loops.
As for the ard piping the gas line.... Just my own preference....somethings I'm just wierd about I guess. :-)
Also, what would you use for a weather responsive device????
A Tekamr injection control would work, but add big $$$ to the cost of the system, for what??? few degrees difference.... being that the temps. will run so low anyway, I can't see how it can be cost justified. Now if the whole place were radiant.....of course then the Ultra would be purring along at low temps and running all the time at about 99% eff.........

    Just rambling on.....

    Floyd?

I'm also curious about the mixing temp., doesn't the return water temp. very by the demand? Longer duration the higher the return temp. How does the mixing valve compensate?

    Nice craftsmanship.

    O.K.

I see it know, but the bypass still is wrong it'nt ?

The tempering valve should only see return water from the floor not form the other parts of the system, no ? If the other zones all come on won't that will tell the mixer that the floor is colder and send hot water out to the floor ? Controll of the temp. is my concern about a set point mixer.

I know the cost goes up with better controls but so does the performance of the system.

    Piping

Some thoughts on the piping. I very seldom use CSST gas piping and I never run it directly to a boiler or water heater. Hard piping looks better and I have my threading machine on th job anyway. I only use CSST fo takoffs to gas fireplaces and second floor gas line runs.
The radiant is for a normal sized master bath only, so a mixing control in my opinion would not be practical for the cost.
Last the mixing valve is piped correctly. All of the pumps are on the feed.
As for the red pumps and green flanges it gives the system a nice Christmas look.
    Thanks for the compliments
