Leaking air vent

Can anyone help me? I have a leaky air vent on a 1-pipe system. The water is filling up the vent and leaking out of the top (air release hole), and the radiator will only heat halfway. I have resorted to leaving a small bucket under the vent, but the 'water-torture dripping' is driving us MAD!
I have replaced the valve with other valves, and have gotten no results. I only have this problem on the one radiator. Thanks SOOOO much!

check the pitch of the radiator. It should be slightly sloped towards the radiator valve (away from the air vent).
If it's level or sloping towards the air vent, put a shim or two (or Dan's favorite a couple of checkers) under the two legs on the air vent side.0
