    Geat Job!!

Good work, Mike. Very thorough and complete. I'd like to see the same analysis on a Munchkin, or for that matter, othe "similar" appliances.

    Thanks Paul. Glad you enjoyed.

Wish I had the time/money to install a Munchkin or Ultra for side-by-side comparison. The way my system is piped it really wouldn't be difficult.

I should probably light the pilot in the old W/M, turn a few valves and make a comparison in moderate weather. I usually only ran it in colder weather and didn't bother to write down when I turned it on in past years so it will be hard to compare merely by natural gas consumption.

Should though be able to get some good estimates of the change in cold weather without wasting a bunch of natural gas...

I'll put my 2Cents in at some point. I'm buried with projects and a few health issues that limit my 'spare' time. I'd like to review some of the REMS tools and Mupro hangers. Perhaps a Viessmann boiler??

    How about a comparison of...

modulating vs. single input fuel savings? Can you get it to run on high fire only for some test period? I recall someone that visits here claim that modulation of input (vs. maintaining maximum input) does not save fuel - but this could only be proven under real field conditions? It seems you have the perfect setup for this!

Not Sure If I Could Do That

Particularly considering there's not a single wall thermostat inside the house.

Could rig one up and set it up as an "external call for heat" to the Vitodens, but I believe I would loose the constant circulation and with the TRVs and the radiant floors believe everything would go utterly goofy.

Dan has added the first of my actual operational reviews. Hope you enjoy.
  • Well done Mike T.

Thoroughly thought through. The emitter system you connected to was a bit different than most are here in NA. I'd be really interested in learning more about the monitering equipment you used to document operation.

There are no "similar" appliances to the Vito.......... but........you already know that. (g) It is in a class of one, all by its lonesome self.
