Gravity system Help!

Ran into a gravity system today. The previous plumber removed a large radiator and replaced it with fin tube baseboard. The Baseboard is coonected with 3/4 pex to 1" MI. The pex connections are very restrictive id. There was no bleeder on the baseboard. I cut in a valve and coin vent on the return. The only access I had was from the basement. I purged all of the air out of the loop.

Now as you already know, there is no flow through this loop. The system has a three inch main with 1" and 3/4" loops to individual radiators. Of course all of the radiators work just fine.

Is there any magic I can do to get flow through the baseboard????

    Ken, your best bet

would be another radiator. That baseboard will never work in a gravity system.

    and

Gerry has/had a bunch of em. The only thing I was thinking about was the flow restriction with the pex adapter.Still once you get that iron warm it will be warm longer.

Try it and change the piping later if necessary.

How or where do I find a pex adapter w/out the restriction? The 3/4" watts looks like it is less than 1/2 id on the crimp side!!!

I explained to the landlord that the baseboard in the kitchen will provide for wide temp swings if it works at all. The t-stat is in a room with a large rad.

My gut tells me it is time to repipe in some CI.
