I have a 35 year old boiler system with 2 heating zones, basement and upstairs. The system use White-Rodgers zone valves (2 wire 24v). They are sweated into the lines and the valve head/motor housing can be removed from the body that's sweated into the line by turning and lifting. My question is this, the valve head has begun to leak and it needs replacing, would a new one fit into the old body (35 years old) to avoid removing and reinstalling a new body? I'm trying to avoid sweating a new body into the line if they are compatable.
