Thanks for everything you do for your families and for your customers. Never underestimate the importance of your work or your profession -- you keep people comfortable and safe.
Hug your kids and thank your significant other for being there when you needed a friend and an advisor. Never take any of your family for granted and tell them you love them all of the time.
I'm thankful for my beautiful wife and children -- they are my rock and the reason I get up each morning.
And I'm thankful for the men and women who protect our country and our way of life. Their sacrifices are what make our great country great.
God Bless.

Last night
The Queen of my house and I were sitting together, alone (rare) in the living room and just chatting about this and that last night. Of course the topic of Thanksgiving came up and we began to tell each other what we were thankful for. After a while it became apparent that all of the things at the top of the list were just the simple, ordinary things of life. Things like the love of a spouse, the love, caring, sharing, and unconditional understanding of close friends and family. A big ole Lab that likes to play with me and my grandaughters, good food, abundant work. (sometimes even profitable)
Madelyn's (5) laugh that comes right from her toes, the way Maggie Jean (1) pats me on the back when she gives me a hug, Olivia's (5) scowl that just cracks me up. Watching Matt, our 19 year old play in his first college basketball game last week. Being able to work with Andy (24) every day. I could write all day...........
What started all this was my wife's statement that she was thankful for a warm home. She had just walked back through the snow and wind from the post office and the warmth of our entry greeted her when she opened the door. She said it just struck her that something so basic could feel so good. Something that is so taken for granted it's forgotten until it's not there. It made me think of how many things in our lives are like that. The basic, fundamental things of existence that are just ....... there, yet are so important.
Make a list today of the things that are really important to you. The things you are really thankful for. Then sit down and give thanks for them.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!0 -
Thanks John,Mark ,Rudy and Steve
This IS a very special day. The list would have to include...
1. My Family. Nothing like a great support group to get us all through the good and bad times. The unconditional love and understanding (especially this time of the year) is AWESOME!
2. My second family here at The Wall. Where else can we turn with a problem, and find not only answers but some emotional support and a bit of sympathy ?You guys are the best!
3. My job. Bellyache as I might....I'm very thankfull for the opportunity to work in the place I do, with some of the best customers that the field could ever offer.
4. Dan. Who else could have come up with a forum for all of us to connect the way we do? A true VISIONARY and a nice guy to boot!
These are but a few of the things I'm giving thanks for today. Like John said...Hug your kids, and please tell someone what they mean to you today. Unlike the Hokey Pokey...this IS really what it's all about. Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. Chris
P.S. Hey tommyoil.....how's that hoof?0 -
Well said Steve
And I'll go one further. I'm thankful for meeting you and becoming your friend. I know you'll blush when you read this but it's okay to blush once in a while. You typify what is good about so many people, especially in this trade. And that is -- you care. You care about the people you love and the people you serve. And it isn't contrived -- you care because it simply is part of your character, not because you have to put on a front.
If more people showed care and concern that came from the soul -- and the heart -- wouldn't this be a much better world?
I hope you and the family are enjoying that northern Michigan snow as much as possible. We got a little dusting down here, just enough to slow people down a bit, which isn't a bad thing.
Enough schmaltz for now, is it cocktail hour yet?0 -
Go Detroit!
Thanksgiving, football and turkey.
Perfect together.

Nice F-Words for Thanksgiving
My friend and mentor, Dan Poynter had this in his e-zine.
It just seemed a good way to slide in the shallow end of this swimming pool.
SOME CAREFULLY-SELECTED F-WORDS AT THANKSGIVING-TIME.
"I wish you and yours a Fantastic, Festive, Flabbergasting THANKSGIVING that will First and Foremost Fill you with Fitting Feelings of Felicity.
Furthermore, may your Fancy Feast Feature all your Favorite Foods (my advice to Facilitate your enjoyment of the Fare; don't Fret over your Figure or the Fat-Factor, wear clothes made of expandable Fabric.)
Be ready to Forgive yourself and others for any Foolish behavior.
Finally, may yours be a Fabulous, Frenzy-Free weekend, Fraught with Fanfare and Fine Folks (Friends &
Family) and Full-blast Fun!
Farewell For now."

Football, food, family..........
Friends. Thank you friends. The hoof is good. Trying to stay off the painkillers during the day so its a little sore right now. I save them for the night time in an attempt to get some Z's. Hope everyone has a great day with their families and friends. Dont forget those military families who have a vacant seat at their tables this holiday season. We await their safe return. Happy Day to all.0
